This garden is bounded by other houses and garages but its corner position affords it generous front and back garden areas surrounded by two metre high wooden fencing. All that fence needed to be disguised to give the impression of endless greenery. This was achieved with evergreen Clematis and Crimson Glory Vine among others.  The Ash-shaded, lower garden area is reached from a broad deck and steps and has several Acer trees within the shade loving plants of the borders while the other side is far sunnier and home to a pretty painted garden shed with matching bench. We turned the shed 180 degrees to diminish its bulk and set it among sun loving plants in new beds with a discrete path to its door. The swaying grasses and tall flowering perennials suggest a romantic hideaway.
